Do You Want To Be a Consultant?

• Develop and leverage your passion for mobile and wireless technologies to build solutions that address the complex issues enterprises face when deploying Apple iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows devices
• Work directly with key hardware manufacturers like Apple and HTC, and be in the know about the latest trends and developments before they go to market
• Identify a client’s business, operational, system and mobility requirements
• Determine key points of integration with other enterprise solutions
• Help manage project timelines, deliverables, budgets and resources
• Provide client support throughout software implementation, including: remote and on-site technical assistance, application configuration, testing and issue resolution
• Support AirWatch sales and strategic alliances through on-site demos and key, c-level meetings

• Build innovative mobile device management software using the latest Microsoft technologies

A Day in the Life of a Consultant

Brent joined our consulting team after receiving his master’s degree in Computational Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2007. He is currently working on several projects, including consulting with the team from Facebook and working with Google teams on the latest version of Android. 

• Q: What do you like most about working at AirWatch?

• A: From day one, I’ve had amazing opportunities to help build and grow a company. It’s crazy at times and definitely busy, but always fun, exciting and definitely rewarding. I also have to say, I love the people that I get to work with here. It’s a great team of young, smart people that make me look forward to coming to work every day. 

 

• Q: What have been some of your favorite projects?

• A: I’ve worked on several projects throughout my time with AirWatch and I’ve traveled the world. One of the coolest offices I’ve seen has to be the Red Bull office in Santa Monica – or Urban Outfitters in Pennsylvania. I got to spend a week in Taiwan trying to win the business of Diageo. We succeeded, by the way. And they are still a client today. I recently was able to travel to Dubai to help expand our presence in the Middle East – what an amazing experience!

 

• Q: What is the most challenging aspect of your career?

• A: Engaging with clients on a day-to-day basis can be challenging. But it’s also one of the greatest parts of my job. It keeps the work exciting, and after 3.5 years, I still learn something new every day. I work with Fortune 500 companies using the latest technologies and security features available and I help them build solutions to deploy mobile devices across their entire enterprise. I’m literally helping to change the game for these companies, and that’s really cool.

 

• Q: What surprised you about working at AirWatch?

• A: I thought, as a first-year college graduate, that I would be doing a lot of grunt work – I wasn’t looking forward to it but I was willing to put in my time. I was so wrong. From the start, I was in meetings with the CEO, face-to-face with customers, and hands-on in shaping the direction of our technology. I felt like I made an impact right away. How many people get to say that about the first year of their career?

A Day in the Life of a Developer

Mike joined our development team after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech in 2009. He most recently played a critical role in migrating the AirWatch User Interface from Silverlight to HTML5. 

• Q: What do you like most about working at AirWatch?

• A: The culture and work environment, hands down. AirWatch has a development culture that embraces innovation and fresh ideas – things happen fast here and that keeps the work exciting. The casual work environment is another plus. It’s comfortable and young, not at all stuffy.

 

• Q: What have been some of your favorite projects?

• A: Every project is fun and exciting because they always bring new challenges. We’re continually working to improve our product and stay ahead of the competition – it’s a great feeling to be first-to-market with new and innovative technology developments. Recently we migrated from Silverlight to HTML5, which was so rewarding. Out with the old and in with the new!

• Q: What is the most challenging aspect of your career?

• A: Keeping up with the latest trends and innovations in software development is definitely challenging. The landscape of mobile technologies is continuously changing and evolving, with new devices, operating systems and heightened functionality. I can definitely say work is never boring and I always feel like I’m challenged and then rewarded for meeting those challenges.

 

• Q: What surprised you about working at AirWatch?

• A: There are far more opportunities for teaching (through lunch and learns), leadership and product ownership than I expected. It really makes a great environment for talented developers.
